Expanding the Scholarly Conversation: Dismantling Bias Through Story and Sound

Expanding the Scholarly Conversation: Dismantling Bias Through Story and Sound In-Person

Location: Tisch Library 304

What counts as scholarship? While the written word has often dominated the response to this question, podcasting as a path to share scholarship beyond the walls of the academy is gaining momentum.

Join us for an evening of discussion around expanding the scholarly conversation, bias in academic publishing and ways the MyTERN Conversation podcast helps enact restorative justice as a practice beyond theorization. We'll hear from Harrison Inefuku as he shares insights from his work on this topic, particularly his writing “Relegated to the Margins”. This year's MyTERN Fellows, Rocio Lopez and Jason Stiles, will share their experiences recording, editing and publishing the MyTERN Conversations podcast, and attendees will enjoy a gallery crawl of an exhibit focused around season 5 of MyTERN Conversations. Light snacks and beverages provided.
